About Alta Vista
Alta Vista is one of San Antonio's oldest neighborhoods. It evolved during San Antonio's first expansion dating back to the 1850s and continued through the Great Depression.
Filled with a rich history and holding approximately 1,000 households, this neighborhood is a long corridor bordered by San Pedro Springs Park, one of the oldest parks in the nation.
Modern-day Alta Vista transformed ranch and farmland into residential subdivisions with turn-of-the-century architecture. This is where many prominent San Antonians resided at the turn of the century.
Today Alta Vista is seeing another transformation as more people are seeking historic homes near downtown and the Pearl.
